Another year of life is celebrating former boxer and present boxing promoter Oscar de la Hoya, who is 42 years old, and the WBA family sends affectionate greetings and the best wishes on his day.

De la Hoya was born in Los Angeles, in 1973. He was Olympic champion in Barcelona 1992 games, medal he dedicated to the memory of his dead mother victim of breast cancer.

Loved by the people, and named “The Golden Boy”, De la Hoya made the leap to professional boxing that same year 1992. His successful career ended with a 39-6, 30 KO, in addition to ten world titles.

He won the belts in six different categories and faced the best boxers of the time. He made exciting battles with Jimmy Bredahl, Julio César Chávez, Félix “Tito” Trinidad, Pernell Whitaker, Héctor “macho” Camacho, Shane Mosley, Felix Sturm, Bernard Hopkins, Floyd Mayweather Jr and Manny Pacquiao among other Gladiators over 16 years.

After hanging up the gloves, he became a businessman to lead the Golden Boy Promotion, and he recently ventured to open an internet channel called Oscar de Hoya TV.

Congratulations to a great boxing and loyal of the WBA family friend.
