Mendoza: “The lawsuit to World Intermedia Boxing will be criminal”

Due to the faking of documents and failure to pay sanctions

The Vice President of the World Boxing Association, Gilberto Jesus Mendoza, explained in detail that the criminal lawsuit to the promoting company World Intermedia Boxing based mainly in the counterfeiting of documents. Mendoza also said “Besides, the payment of the boxer’s purse is the sole responsibility of the promoter, and not the WBA’s“.

Mendoza also said, “The promoting company World Intermedia Boxing assured the parties concerned that the cancellation of the remaining 75% of the amount owed, would be deposited on October 25, however, that never happened. When asked the reason why they had not done it, they alleged they had stopped the payment because they had to deduct the purse of Liborio Solis who did not fight“.

So far, alleged deposit of 75% of the purses has not been made according to the information we received from affected representatives and boxers.

It is false that the company complied with all payments. They did send 25% and we understood was part of Ogleidis Suarez’ payment. Now, the company argues that this amount was to be distributed among all the boxing participating in the event“, said Mendoza.

There are various pending situations in relation to payments, “They owe 22 thousand dollars to the matchmaker Hamir Gonzalez from Colombia, and they only gave him two thousand dollars and have not completed the payment, to mention one case“.

They also owe the part of Liliana Palmera purse.

However, the situation that concerns and affects the WBA is the forgery of documents, “Besides all the lies regarding the payments, they counterfeit documents dating them on a date when we were traveling to our Convention in Indonesia. They fabricated documents.  They copied and pasted my signature in two documents and on another document the signature is clearly forged”, said Mendoza.

As for the Solis vs Cabrera fight, the WBA warned the supervisor of the event, Rodolfo Fortich that the fight was no to be authorized as title fight. “However, we believe that due to the time difference between Asia and Venezuela, he got information late and, by mistake, he conducted the official weighing ceremony like a title fight and confused the people, and he might have been confused with the forged documents“, detailed the Vice-president.

We assume the responsibility as for the delay in the communication but not for the money that is the sole responsibility of the promoter. They also owe the WBA the sanction fees of the Women fight, Fedelatin sanction fee and the official’s payment“, said the spokesperson.

Mendoza: “La demanda a World Intermedia Boxing será por vía penal
