Former WBA Super featherweight champion and current WBA #1 world ranked Jorge Linares had eight days of rest per the instructions of his physical coach, Nakamura Sensei, who helped him to improve his stamina as they look ahead to a tough commitment. Linares faces former champion Jesus Chavez on October 24 in Japan. “After the fight (Rocky) Juarez have not rested, and the work was very demanding. On this field we practice many long runs both in morning and the afternoon with races of up to 15 kilometers. It’s been very hard, but physically it has served us well,” emphasized Linares in an exclusive interview with boxeovenezolano.com.ve, after his arrival to Tokyo.

The Venezuelan will begin sparring on Monday under the supervision of his trainer Sendai Tanaka.

“Now we are going to begin the sparring and working with people much like my opponent. I know that is a man with experience, but we are going to be very well prepared and without doubt we are going to give 1000% so we don’t defraud the public of Japan”, assured Linares.
