Tonight at Emperors Palace in Kempton Park, Gauteng, South Africa, Paul Kamanga (17-0, 9 KOs), from Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa, by way of Democratic Republic of the Congo, fights Roman Zhailauov (15-1, 9 KOs), from Astana, Kazakhstan, for the vacant Pan African welterweight title.

Twenty-two-year-old Kamanga is a former WBA Pan African super lightweight champion. He turned pro on July 9, 2012, and has never stopped fighting. He had two more fights in 2012, six fights in 2013, five fights in 2015, and tonight’s bout will be his fourth this year.

Zhailauov, 21, had his first pro fight on August 18, 2012, and has been no less busy than Kamanga. He had five more fights in 2012, four fights in 2013, three fights in 2014, and tonight’s fight will be his fourth bout in 2015.

The former Kazakhstani welterweight champion and WBC Asian Boxing Council welterweight champion is being trained by Harold Volbrecht in Boksburg and has one loss on his record, to 20-10-1 Thompson Mokwana in his last fight.
