Undouptedly this has been a great year for Jessie Vargas, who in April won the World Championship, in August made the first title defense, and who is seeking a victory over former world champion Antonio DeMarco that could open the door to bigger fights in his career.

“I know if I look good and achieve a spectacular victory against DeMarco possibilities for a fight against Manny Pacquiao would increase and that’s the fight I ‘m looking for,” Vargas said.

The title fight between Vargas and DeMarco with open the TV broadcast from Macao, China of the boxing card where Manny Pacquiao defends his World Boxing Association (WBA) welterweight championship against undefeated Chris Algieri at the Cotai Arena Venetian Hotel Macao through HBO will televise the event payment system.

Vargas (25-0, 9 KO’s) of Las Vegas, Nevada defends his World Boxing Association (WBA) welterweight crown against DeMarco (31-3-1 , 23 KO’s), a native of Los Mochis, Sinaloa, Mexico but resident of Tijuana, Baja California, who has been lightweight champion of the World Boxing Council ( WBC ) twice.

At the last press conference in Macao, Vargas said he was satisfied with the preparation for this fight, and hopefully has enough resources to retain his championship with the support of his new trainer the legendary Roy Jones Jr.

“I will start strong and I will finish strong. I’m going out with the victory” said Vargas and added “Roy Jones Jr. has taken me to another level during this preparation” , Vargas said.”

He said he hopes to make proud his team and all those who have given him unconditional support. “I worked hard, very hard, and I’m sure I’ll be a different fighter and De Marco will notice that.”

DeMarco also has a luxury trainer Freddie Roach, who is almost has year working with the Mexican who spent nearly two months in the Philippines training for this fight next to Manny Pacquiao.

Puerto Rican Luis Pabon will referee the World Boxing Association super lightweight 140 lbs title fight between the champion Jessie Vargas and the challenger Antonio De Marco.

The WBA appointed the judges Pinit Prayadsab (Thai), Levy Martinez (US) and Stanley Christodoulou (SRA).

The supervisor of the fight will be Yang Sup Shim (KOR).

In the other two fights on television, the two-time Olympic champions Vasyl Lomanchenko and Zou Shiming will be in action. Lomanchenko defends his WBO featherweight crown and Shiming makes the first elimination bout in his first 12-round bout.

Both Lomachenko as Shiming won gold medals at the 2008 Beijing in and the London 2012 Olympic Games. The Russian will face Thai Chontatarin Piriyavinyo ( 52-1 , 33 KO ‘s, while Shiming will face Kwanpichit Onesongchaingym ( 27-0, 12 KOs ) also from Thailand.
