A war without precedent offered the boxers Liliana Palmera defending her WBA interim super bantamweight title, and her Venezuelan challenger Alys Sánchez in the ring in the Coliseum Leon Guzman of Cerete, to the sound of a joyful porro, Cordoban music, in between rounds for the public to dance, have fun and aplauding both boxers who fought for the victory.

Cereté is an intermediate municipality in the department of Cordoba, north of Colombia, since it is not a capital, many people think it does not have any economic or logistics capacity to hold an event of this magnitude since it is a privilege of big cities. However, an enthusiastic mayor Negro Padilla as Francisco likes to be called, and in 2013 he took there Merlito Sabillo from Philippines to fight Luis De la Rosa for the WBO minimum belt.

The coliseum Mario León was designed to accommodate four thousand people in the stands, with a wide field where the ring and one thousand seats were installed. Today, the Coliseum administrator ensures that least five hundred people were standing and similar number in the stands, and the total both on cup in the stands and that six thousand people attended the event. But nobody noticed that there were more people than expected because the happy familiar party behavior, where one could drink and applaud regardless the fact if it was the challenger or the champion who taking the beat, that is why we say the attended an event in a peace zone.

The program began with an early knockout of Sergio Benavides on Jorge Miranda in a dull fight, but it seems that someone came from who knows where changed the course of the program, because then fought Wilner Soto and Elkin Rosario and we had the best fight of the night, where Soto won in eight rounds.
The program was supported by the presence of the best fighter produced in the area, Miguel ‘Happy’ Lora, former WBC bantamweight world champion, WBA vice president, Gilberto Jesus Mendoza, the governor of the Córdoba department, Alexander Lyons, President of Fecobox, Julio Torres Roca and other local authorities. “I was told it was good here, but I never imagined so many people with proper behavior, his seemed a family party,” said Gilberto Mendoza out of the coliseum.

The battle provided by Liliana Palmera and Alys Sánchez was of excellent quality, worthy of the event, they stranded in a “give and take” from the opening bell, Palmera looking for Sanchez and the latter counterpunching, true to her fighting style, at the end the victory was for the house by split decision, on three dissimilar cards, 98-91, 94-96 and 97-94. It does not matter, it was a battle, without giving or asking for mercy, before an audience of excellent behavior.
