Escorpion-Ruiz made history for Honduras with FEDECENTRO titleWBA press. March 12.  Honduras has a FEDECENTRO champion; Joseph “Escorpion” Ruiz won the Featherweight title when he defeated by unanimous decision the Nicaraguan, Norwin Mike Galo, in the gym Alexis Arguello, Nicaragua.

The judges voted 87 ½ – 87, 87-84, 85 ½ – 88 in a fight held last week.

Ruiz became the first Honduran to win an international belt, in any division and any organization. “It was the toughest fight I’ve ever had in my life,” said the boxer to the press in his country.

In his opinion, the key to this success was, besides to the preparation and physical conditions, “throw many punches. In round seven I felt tired so I followed him and caught him with combinations and I think that’s why I won,” the Honduran media said.

The recognition to Ruiz’ talent and achievement is reflected in his country’s press, everybody admire his progress to overcome the most painful moments of his dramatic childhood.

“Life blows hurts more than boxing’s, but they made me strong in my career. If lose in a fight is like going back to the past, everything would be like before and I don’t want to live that again. When I am fighting I get to where I go an extra mile, I have no limits because I want to continue growing,” he explained to the press.

Prensa AMB. 12 de marzo.- Honduras cuenta con un campeón FEDECENTRO después que Josec el “Escorpión” Ruíz conquistara el título del peso pluma que ganó al nicaragüense Norwin Mike Galo, en el Gimnasio Alexis Arguello de Nicaragua.

Los jueces votaron a su favor 87 ½ – 87, 87-84, 85 ½ – 88 en la pelea disputada hace una semana.

Ruíz se convirtió así en el primer hondureño en conseguir un cinturón internacional, en cualquier división y organismo alguno. “Fue la pelea más dura que he tenido de toda mi vida”, contaba el boxeador catracho a la prensa de su país.

En su opinión, la clave del éxito fue además de su preparación y condiciones físicas al momento de estar en el ring, “el tirar bastantes golpes. En el séptimo lo sentí cansado y lo seguí, lo sorprendí con combinaciones y creo que por eso gané”, publican los medios hondureños.

El reconocimiento al talento y el logro de Ruíz está plasmado en la prensa de su país, todos admiran su progreso y el haber superado los momentos más dolorosos de su dramática infancia.

“Los golpes de la vida duelen más que los de boxeo, pero me han ayudado a tener un carácter fuerte en mi carrera. Para mí, perder en una pelea es como volver al pasado, todo sería como antes y yo no quiero volver a vivir eso. Cuando estoy peleando llego hasta donde no puedo, no tengo límites porque quiero seguir creciendo”, explicó en un medio de su país.
