WBA interim flyweight champion Luis “El Nica” Concepcion (22-1, 17 KOs) impressively destroyed former champion Denkaosan Kaovichit (50-3-1, 20 KOs) in the first round on Saturday night at the Roberto Duran Arena in Panama City, Panama. Concepcion spectacularly dropped Kaovichit three times in the first round prompting referee Rafael Ramos to wave it off after just 90 seconds of brutality. Concepcion celebrated by doing a backflip off the top rope.

Two years after winning the title, WBA cruiserweight champion Guillermo “El Felino” Jones (37-3-2, 29 KOs) finally defended the belt. Jones stopped mandatory challenger Valery Brudov (38-3, 27 KOs) at the end of round eleven when referee Luis Pabon waved off the fight due to deep cuts above Brudov’s eyes. The 38-year-old Jones, who nearly won the WBA 154lb world title in 1998 before restablishing himself five weight divisions higher, outworked Brudov all night long, much to the delight of promoter Don King who was observing from ringside.

WBA #5 featherweight Irving Berry (18-1-2, 9 KOs) took a one-sided ten round unanimous decision over WBA #15 Feider Viloria (23-7-1, 16 KOs) in a clash for the WBA International belt. Scores were 100-90, 99-91, 99-91.

WBA #10 Nilson “El Martillo” Tapia (14-2-1, 10 KOs) scored a ten round unanimous decision over former world title challenger Jorge Sebastián Heiland (16-2, 8 KOs). Scores were 99-92, 99-91, 99-91. Tapia claimed the vacant WBA Fedelatin middleweight title.

Female super bantamweight Shantall “La Fiera” Martínez (11-4, 4 KOs) scored a fifth round TKO over Ogleidis “La Niña” Suarez (12-2-1, 5 KOs) in a clash for the WBA Fedefem belt that also doubled as a WBA title eliminator. Time was 1:45.

In the final fight of the reality show “El Primer Guerrero” undefeated super bantamweight Ricardo Torrero (7-0, 4 KOs) won a six round unanimous decision over previously unbeaten Manuel Videz (7-1, 3 KOs). Terrero scored knocked down Videz in rounds two and five en route to a 59-54, 59-53, 59-53 win.

In a clash of lightweight contenders, Ameth “Cloroformo” Díaz (28-10, 19 KOs) won a unanimous decision over WBA #5 Javier “El Terri” Castro (24-3, 19 KOs) by scores of 98-93, 97-94, 97-93. Diaz claimed the WBA Lightweight International title previously held by Castro.

Former WBC heavyweight champion Hassim “The Rock” Rahman (49-7-2, 40 KOs) needed just one round to annihilate journeyman Marcus McGee (22-18, 11 KOs).

NABA heavyweight titleholder Timur Ibragimov (30-2-1, 16 KOs) retained his belt with a ten round unanimous decision over local favorite Luis “El Leñador” Pineda (21-9-1, 18 KOs). Scores were 97-92, 98-92, 98-91.

Unbeaten WBA #12 welterweight Brad Solomon (15-0, 6 KOs) scored a fifth round KO over power-punching Pablo “El Talentoso” Vásquez (19-2, 18 KOs). Solomon retained his WBA International welterweight title.

Former WBA super flyweight champion Alexander “El Explosivo” Muñoz (35-3, 27 KOs) had to work harder than expected in taking a narrow eight round majority decison over journeyman Leopoldo “El Tiburón” Arrocha (10-15-2, 6 KOs) in a super bantamweight bout. Scores were 77-75, 77-75, 76-76.

WBA #5 cruiserweight Francisco “Wizard” Palacios (20-0, 13 KOs) scored a second round KO over journeyman Donnell Wiggins (24-13-4, 14 KOs).
