WBA World light heavyweight champ Juergen Braehmer defends his title against Konni Konrad over a scheduled 12 rounds at Freiberger Arena, Dresden, Sachsen, Germany, on Saturday, September 5.

The German southpaw is a 16-year pro (46-2, 34 KOs) who won the vacant title by decisioning Marcus Oliveira in December 2013. The 36-year-old has successfully defended his crown four times, most recently this March when he retired Robin Krasniqi in the ninth. Never stopped, Braehmer was decisioned by Mario Veit in May 2006 and Hugo Hernan Garay in November 2008, when he first challenged for the WBA World light heavyweight championship.

His 30-year-old opponent was born in Montenegro, but now fights out of Germany. “Koko” is a 13-year pro (22-1-1, 11 KOs) who won the vacant WBA International light heavyweight title by decisioning Bernard Donfack in July 2013. He most recently fought in May, knocking out Vasyl Kondor in the fifth. His sole loss came in May 2006, when he was decisioned by Denis Inkin. He drew against Mehdi Amar in May 2014 in a defense of his championship. Konrad is ranked #7 by the WBA.
